Common Mistake:
Solution:
Most companies rely on their customer service in their corporate home office for far too much to
service the international markets. While this is done for practical and cost reasons, it often times hurt
new and emerging markets to the extent that it kills them before they even get started.
Asia is a diverse region with many different languages. Not everyone can speak and write English well
enough to communicate with the corporate office. We have noticed that many companies also have
problems responding to emails in a timely an effective manner. Sometimes it is because they don't
understand what is written. Calling on the phone is even more challenging. Aside from the language,
there are also challenges such as the cost and the time zone differences.
Our solution is to provide basic local customer service support, primarily in the area of order status,
which we can coordinate with the local logistics company and corporate. We will also be able to
effective communicate with both corporate and the local distributors. This
can be done during the pre-launch, until the local office is set up and staff.
