Common Mistake:
Solution:
The Country Manager is often the person that can make or break a market. It is thus surprising how
little effort companies make in finding the right person.

Many take the easy solution of listening to recommendations of their international leaders, who usually
recommend people from their previous companies. Having international leaders recommend people
from their previous companies gives corporate lesser control over the Country Manager, as he/she is
obligated to the international leader.

Or companies find someone with experience as a distributor but not in corporate management. We
have seen very few cases of former distributors doing well in management. On the contrary, they think
like distributors and only excel in sales, which often means giving in to whatever the distributors ask.

Our solution is to help you do extensive searches and qualification. We have been in some
markets long enough to know who are the good, the bad and the dishonest who were sacked.
